Our Story

In 1956, Prime was founded by Milton Wein, a Navy veteran turned entrepreneur, in New York City. Originally starting as an insurance advisory firm, Prime quickly grew its client base and expanded its services to include financial guidance for medical professionals. Milton's son Howard joined the company in 1975, further diversifying its offerings and introducing tax planning services. Lawrence Bernstein, Milton's son-in-law, joined Prime in the late 1980s, bringing his rich experience in research and technology, which allowed the company to expand into retirement planning.

Over the years, Prime focused on providing specialized financial services to medical professionals while continually expanding its offerings and embracing technological advancements. In 2002, the third generation, Jason Wein, joined the team, bringing a passion for financial literacy and a commitment to client education. As the company evolved, it relocated its offices to Connecticut to better serve its growing national client base.

Bio

Bought up in Long Island, Howard graduated from Grahm College as an Accounting and Finance Major. He now lives in Connecticut with his wife, children, and Bella – a chihuahua.

Being an admirer of his father, Howard feels great satisfaction and motivation in helping people with their finances. Eventually, he joined PRIME and became its founding member in 1976.

With over 47 years of experience working in the finance industry, Howard does charity work for organizations Connecticut Humane Society, Red Cross, Food Shelters, Wilton Ambulance Group, as well and other religious organizations. He believes and preaches that one should treat everyone right and fairly.

Bio

Born in Wilton CT, and a father of 4 children, Jason, a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University, has always been a passionate fan of sports, cheering on Penn State sports and the New York Mets.

On most weekends you can find him coaching baseball, or cheering on his kids at their various sporting events.

Jason is the third-generation of PRIME wealth advisors. He started working in the field after his grandfather founded the company, and has always loved the idea of helping people create their future financial life. His expertise includes tax mitigation, financial/goal planning, as well as a full range of financial concierge services for physicians.

Growing up in Levittown, Long Island – Larry graduated from the University of Albany in 1979 in Economics and English.

He currently lives in Wilton, CT with his wife, 3 daughters and their dog – Walter.

Larry started his career in the business with PRIME back in 1980. He likes helping people and making sure they’re alright financially. He treats his clients like his friends, being with them in their good and bad times.

In Larry’s free time, you can find him photographing, fishing, boating, or watching movies. He believes that one should do what makes them happy in life.

Born and raised in Grand Forks, ND – Alex Kreis graduated from Jamestown College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with Financial Planning & Marketing.

With a professional and successful baseball background, Alex decided to use his passion and competitiveness to help clients achieve financial success. His motto for his clients is simple: “If you fail to plan, you plan to fail.”

Along with being a sports and big country music fan, you’ll often find Alex outdoors in his spare time – playing golf or spending time with his yellow lab Ace.

Growing up in Enfield, CT – Maureen earned her MBA from the University of Connecticut.

She is dedicated to helping people manage their finances so that they can eliminate stress and anxiety, develop peace of mind and financial freedom in their lives.

Maureen loves to travel, go to the beach, read and watch football, rugby and hockey. She enjoys gardening and hiking with her two sons and their dog.

Growing up in Stamford, Darby completed her BS in Education from the University of Connecticut.

With over 20 years of working with financial advisors as a Business Operations Manager, she also works part-time at the Palace Theatre in Stamford, alongside supporting the Bridgeport Rescue Mission for the homeless and addicted.

As a financial advisor for PRIME Financial Services, Darby finds the role quite rewarding as she’s constantly learning new things. And because of her habit of being detail-oriented, Darby feels that the role fits her perfectly.
